Aviator235Xpro can still pay dividends

Using Aviator235Xpro can still pay dividends despite the dry weather according to James Taylor-Alford, Bayer’s Product Agronomy Manager. He says: “HGCA’s Appropriate Fungicide Dose (AFD) work contains data from the last three years, two of which also had very dry spring or early summer conditions. Aviator235Xpro still delivered extra yield over existing chemistry, so it’s proven in dry conditions and with high grain prices every attempt should be made to achieve the best possible yields.”

He says that Aviator235Xpro needs to be applied at a minimum rate of 1.0 L/ha to get the full benefit of the extra disease control and yield benefits.

“As well as applying at the correct rate,” he says, “It is also important to get your timing right. Even if your T1 sprays went on late when final leaf two was out, you should still aim to apply Aviator235Xpro at GS39. Even though the Septoria risk in some areas is currently low, there still remains a high rust risk and the Septoria situation could change rapidly. Aviator235Xpro has excellent protective activity together with its proven physiological benefits.”

However, James also points out that in extreme drought conditions Firefly155 is an attractive alternative. It offers comprehensive disease control including Septoria and rusts as well as mildew control and Fusarium inoculum management.
