Mesurol gains UK approval

Mesurol seed treatment has gained CRD approval for application to forage maize, grain maize and sweet corn seed.

Most maize seed to be drilled by UK growers this spring will have originated from mainland Europe with Mesurol treatment applied at source. With this practice currently under review, the UK approval ensures continued access to this important treatment. Adrian Cottey, Bayer CropScience campaign manager for seed protection says it’s reassuring news for the majority of UK maize growers who routinely rely on it to optimise establishment.

Containing methiocarb, Mesurol’s UK approval is for control of frit fly and reduction of feeding damage by birds such as pheasants, pigeons and corvids (rooks and crows).
