Using the right slug pellet at the right time is crucial to ensuring the best possible control of slugs in oilseed rape according to Bayer CropScience’s Product Manager Peter Stacey. “We recommend that you apply Draza forte at the full rate (3.75kg/ha) just prior to emergence,” he says, “Oilseed rape is most vulnerable to slug damage between germination and the two leaf stage, so it’s important to apply the slug pellets before this critical control point. 

“However, the quality of the pellets is just as important as the timing or the active substance used. In fact, by using the highest quality of pellets at this stage, you may well need only one application, which make good sense for a number of reasons. “
