As a member of Farming & Countryside Education, Bayer CropScience is looking at a number of different projects with FACE as a positive move in educating through farming. 

FACE was formed from the educational work of the National Farmers' Union and the Royal Agricultural Society of England when they merged in September 2001 and was granted charitable status in 2005, ensuring they remain totally independent. FACE is an organisation staffed entirely by ex-teachers who are trying to bring outdoor learning and countryside Education into the national curriculum. FACE have been working closely over the last few years with all aspects of the agricultural industry to assist schools and young people in gaining a better understanding of how farming is such an important part of our culture, economy and future.

Bayer CropScience is currently sponsoring the provision of wild flower seed packs for distribution to schools

 

In addition, Bayer CropScience is sponsoring the setting up of an on-line distance-learning tool to gain an official qualification for making their farms accessible for educational visits. Watch this space for further details.

FACE has over 50 industry members and links to schools throughout the UK, working with pupils, teachers, Government, farmers, partners and the media to promote visits to farms and provides easy access to resources and activities to complement these visits.
