Biodiversity Project

Biodiversity Project

As part of our ongoing commitment to biodiversity we have set up a Biodiversity Project at both of our company's Field Stations in February 2003. It is aimed at utilising and enhancing the variety of plants and wildlife at these farms by identifying specific biodiversity actions. This five-year project is currently undertaking baseline surveys to determine the amount of bird and plant wildlife on the sites.

A beetle bank, uncut margins and conservation headlands have already been established. The planting of new hedgerows and the management of old woodland and ponds are further activities to be undertaken by the project team. All these actions link in closely with the local government's Biodiversity Strategy Action plans as well as with activities of various environmental and wildlife organisations.
