Fandango is the class-leading fungicide for use in barley. It gives you a cost-effective and consistent performance that is unrivalled by any other one-pack product. Fandango treats the broadest spectrum of diseases including eyespot, sharp eyespot (reduction of disease severity), stem base Fusarium foot rot, take-all, powdery mildew, brown rust, Rhynchosporium and net blotch.

Fandango can also be used on second wheat to provide activity against take-all.

Why Fandango?

Fandango is the tried and tested solution used by thousands of barley growers. It is a cost-effective treatment for all of the major barley diseases. Independent trials have demonstrated that Fandango consistently delivers greater yields than best competitor standards in barley, averaging around 0.3t/ha.  It also reduces screenings.

Main advantages

  • One-pack simplicity
  • Proven performance
  • Long-lasting activity
  • Controls all major barley diseases
  • Delivers more yield, quality and margin
  • Tried and trusted

Getting the best from Fandango

The key to getting the best from Fandango is to use it at the right rate and time. In winter barley, T1 sprays should take place at GS 30-31 at a rate of 1.0 to 1.25 L/ha depending on the disease risk. T2 spray at 0.75 L/ha should take place not more than four weeks after your T1 spray, ideally with awns just emerging.

In spring barley, your T1 Fandango spray should be applied at 0.75 L/ha at mid to late tillering. A T2 spray of 0.5 to 0.75 L/ha, depending on disease risk, should be applied at three to four weeks after T1.

Bayer CropScience Fandango in winter and spring barley programmes

*If spring barley is drilled in December or January treat it more like a winter barley crop

**Addition of 1.0 L CTL at T2 helps control Ramularia and abiotic spotting

For higher yielding varieties of barley, you might like to consider SiltraXpro.

Fandango in Winter Wheat

As well as being a class-leading fungicide for use in barley. Fandango can also be used on second wheat. It will give you control of the wide range of diseases controlled by Proline275, as well as helping to reduce take-all.

Why Fandango?

Fandango is the best T1 foliar active for take-all. Using it in second wheat extends the benefits of Proline275  to include not just additional take-all activity, but also enhanced stem-base disease suppression. Independent trials have shown that Fandango can increase yields by up to 0.3t/ha vs. azoxystrobin + epoxyconazole 0.6 of label dose.

Key Features and Benefits

  • One-pack simplicity
  • Proven performance
  • Long-lasting activity
  • Integrated foliar, stem based disease and take-all management
  • Duel non-disease yield boosting activity from both fluoxastrobin and prothioconazole

Getting the best from Fandango

To get the best from Fandango on winter wheat you should use it as a T1 spray and vary the application rates according to the level of disease pressure.

  • Medium foliar disease risk, low to medium eyespot, or low to medium take-all risk, apply 1.0 L/ha of Fandango. The addition of CTL can improve Septoria control and increase yield.
  • Medium to high foliar disease, medium to high eyespot, or take-all at medium or higher, increase the application to 1.5 L/ha. (At this rate CTL is not required).

For treatment of take-all and early season foliar disease, Fandango should be used in conjunction with an appropriate seed treatment such as Galmano or Galmano Plus.
