(Active substances: amidosulfuron)
Its flexibility of use is what makes Eagle our outstanding product for controlling cleavers in cereals and linseed. It is effective in cold and warm conditions and can be tank-mixed with a wide range of herbicides, fungicides and plant growth regulators (PGR). Eagle is recommended by the Game Conservancy Trust for use on Conservation Headlands.
Why Eagle?
Eagle allows you to get in early to control cleavers. Research has shown that if you wait until May, you could lose up to 18% of your crop yield or up to two tonnes per hectare of wheat. It can be tank-mixed with Atlantis WG and biopower, which allows you to save time and money by controlling cleavers at the same time as you tackle black-grass. Eagle can be used on a wide range of cereals including wheat, barley, oats, rye, triticale, durum wheat and linseed.
Main advantages
- Allows you to get in early to control your cleavers and protect yield
- Effective at low temperatures
- Flexible dose rate and timing from 1st February to GS 49
- Outstanding control of cleavers, charlock, runch, volunteer rape, shepherd's purse and field forget-me-not
- Controls a wide range of broad-leaved weeds when tank-mixed with Oxytril CM (bromoxynil and ioxynil as octanoate esters)
- Can be tank-mixed with a wide range of other herbicides including Atlantis WG (mesosulfuron-methyl and iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium) and Pacifica (mesosulfuron-methyl and iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium) as well as fungicides and PGRs
- There are no restrictions on following cereal crops or spring-grown crops in normal rotation
- In addition to cereals-only crops, winter oilseed rape, mustard, turnip, winter field beans, and vetches may be sown in the same year, but these must be preceded by ploughing or thorough cultivation.
Getting the best from Eagle
Eagle should be applied after February 1st and before GS 49, once the weeds are actively growing and before the cleavers start to compete with the crop. Broadcast crops should be sprayed post-emergence after the plants have a well-established root system. To control a wide range of weeds you should use Eagle as part of a tank-mix.
Important things to remember
- Don’t apply to crops undersown or due to be undersown with clover and alfalfa
- Don’t roll or harrow within one week of spraying
- Don’t spray crops under stress, suffering drought, waterlogged, grazing, lacking nutrients or if the soil is compacted
- When using Eagle as part of a tank-mix, always add Eagle first
- Ensure you have the appropriate dose for the size of the cleavers you are treating
