(Active substances: 2-chloroethylphosphonic acid and chlormequat)

We have designed Upgrade as a flexible treatment that can be used either early or late to reduce lodging. It means that decisions can be made at any stage and it can be used in sequence with other plant growth regulators.

Why Upgrade?

Crop growth is influenced throughout the season by many factors which can change the requirements for growth regulation. Upgrade is designed to give you flexibility and to help you to control lodging in winter wheat, winter barley and spring barley.

Getting the best from Upgrade

To get the best from Upgrade use it when the crop is growing vigorously Apply Upgrade before lodging has started. Crops grown under conditions of high fertility are more prone to lodge and need the most protection. For greatest protection against lodging use Upgrade at flag leaf just visible (GS 37) following an earlier PGR treatment.

Important things to remember

• Do not spray the crops when the leaf sheaths have split and the ears are visible
• Apply before lodging has started
• Apply to vigorously growing crops
• Use for crops growing under high fertility conditions

Upgrade as part of a programme

Upgrade can be used as part of programme in conjunction with Cerone ethephon, (2-chloroethylphosphonic acid)) or following chlormequat or chlormequat mixtures with Moddus* (trinexapac-ethyl).
