Chinook is our standard insecticide seed treatment providing protection for oilseed rape at establishment against cabbage stem flea beetle.

Why Chinook?

Chinook improves the early health of your oilseed rape crop, providing highly effective protection against adult flea beetle. It also provides a reduction of aphid-transmitted Beet Western Yellows Virus (BWYV), and has been shown to provide substantial increases in yield and profitability.

Main advantages

  • Safe for use on all varieties of winter and spring oilseed rape
  • Proven treatment under a wide range of conditions
  • Gives additional protection against early aphid transmission of virus
  • Specifically formulated for precision application
  • Environmentally sound

Getting the best from Chinook

Chinook works best when used on conventional varieties of oilseed rape sown at a minimum density of 100 seeds/square metre i.e. 5kg per hectare.

In spring oilseed rape, Chinook will normally need a follow-up foliar spray to maximise flea beetle control.

Important things to remember

  • Chinook-treated seed must not be broadcast
  • Seeds must always be covered by soil
  • Do not have any seed available on the surface to wildlife
