Atlantis Works at Low Temperatures

Atlantis works even when the temperature is low

While some herbicides such as Broadway Sunrise™ (pyroxsulam and pendimethalin) rely on higher soil temperatures to work effectively against grass-weeds, our research shows that Atlantis WG™ is a lot less temperature-dependent.

Weeds can grow even when the soil temperature is low, and while there is active growth it’s the ideal time to treat the weeds. Early treatment increases the effectiveness of the products, reduces competition, and ultimately gives you higher yields.

We carried out research using applications of Atlantis WG plus Stomp™ (pendimethalin - 1000g/Ha) either in early November, or early January. We compared these with applications of Broadway Sunrise at the same time.

In both cases the Atlantis WG programmes were more effective than Broadway Sunrise. In particular, the Atlantis WG tank-mix applied in January delivered 85% black-grass control, while Broadway Sunrise only delivered 10% during the cold weather at the time.

Treating early will deliver better results and Atlantis WG can be used even when soil temperatures are low – if you have active growth then you should consider spraying.
